Tech giant Google has officially opened Ananta, its largest campus in India, marking a major milestone in its commitment to the country’s growing digital ecosystem. Situated in Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley, this 148,644 sqm facility stands as one of Google’s biggest global campuses outside the USA.

A New Era for Google in India
The name ‘Ananta’, meaning infinite in both Kannada and Sanskrit, reflects Google’s vision of boundless technological innovation. Designed for collaboration and advanced research, this state-of-the-art campus will house teams from multiple divisions, including Google Search, Android, Cloud, Maps, Play, Pay, and Google DeepMind.
Preeti Lobana, Vice President and Country Manager of Google India, emphasized the importance of the new Bengaluru campus in the company’s broader AI-driven transformation. “Ananta marks a significant milestone in our journey. Our focus is on empowering businesses and individuals through AI, ensuring its impact across key sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and fintech,” she stated.

Cutting-Edge Design and Infrastructure
Developed in collaboration with local Indian designers, Ananta incorporates innovative technology and sustainability. The campus features one of India’s largest electrochromic glass installations, optimizing natural light while minimizing energy use. The unique sculpted facade enhances aesthetics while creating a comfortable workspace.
A standout feature is the Sabha, an amphitheater-style space fostering collaboration and engagement among employees. Additionally, the Aranya forest-inspired landscape with gardens, jogging paths, and green spaces enhances employee well-being.

A Sustainable and Inclusive Campus
Google has prioritized sustainability at Ananta. The campus recycles 100% of its wastewater, harvests rainwater onsite, and uses smart glass to optimize energy efficiency.
Accessibility is also at the forefront of Ananta’s design. The campus features tactile flooring for the visually impaired, Braille-friendly amenities, and barrier-free navigation to ensure an inclusive workplace.
Driving Innovation from India to the World
Google’s presence in India has expanded significantly in recent years, with a strong focus on engineering and product innovation. Ananta represents a long-term investment in developing solutions from India for the global market.
Anand Rangarajan, VP of Google DeepMind, and Sunil Rao, VP of Google Cloud India Global Delivery, highlighted India’s thriving startup ecosystem and its contribution to the world’s digital infrastructure. “Increasingly, we are building from India, for the world,” they stated in a company blog post.
A Bright Future for Google in India

With its cutting-edge technology, focus on AI, and commitment to sustainability, Google’s Ananta campus in Bengaluru is set to become a hub of innovation, research, and collaboration. As the company continues to expand its footprint, Ananta serves as a symbol of Google’s deep-rooted commitment to India’s digital growth and its vision for the future.
